Iman Academy Southwest Campus (IASW) and its FAITH Childcare Center, a subsidiary of F.A.I.T.H., Foundation to Advance Islamic Teaching in Houston, is home to over 450 students in grades from Infants all the way to 12th grade, and along with its sister school in the Southeast Campus is one of the largest & foremost leading Islamic educational institutions in the state of Texas. With a focus on academic excellence rooted in Islamic values & Tarbiyah, Iman Academy SW proudly boasts a 100% graduation rate and produces top notch Valedictorian & Salutatorian graduating seniors who attain college admissions at top notch universities such as Harvard, Yale, Notre Dame, UT-Austin, and Texas A&M-College Station. IASW students participate in a number of school-wide, state, and national competitions such as the Scripps’s Spelling Bee, Private Schools Interscholastic Association, MIST, Science Fair, Quran Memorization & Tajweed, Arabic Vocabulary Definition, Community Outreach and Intramural Sport Programs. Students also participate in numerous Extracurricular School Clubs such as Aspiring Doctors Club, Art Club, Debate Club, and X-Robotics Club.
With the clear vision of the Founders’ & Board of Trustees’ leadership, the collaborative efforts of the school’s administrative & academic team, the dedication of all teaching & non-teaching school staff, and the support & contribution of our parents and community supporters, Iman Academy SW is
well-prepared to lead the way and guide our student scholars to the next level of success. We, the family of Iman Academy SW, continue to strive to set and complete short-term and long-term goals and ambitions to include but not limited to the expansion of a fast growing childcare, elementary, middle, and high school student population, and the offering of extracurricular activities such as Qur’an Hifz Program, Academic Intervention & Pullout Programs, Federal Title Programs, Special International Student Programs, Weekly Guest Speakers, Educational Field Trips, and College Admission & SAT Test Preparations. With a steadfast focus on offering & providing an enriching & challenging program of studies to all of our students along with AP courses as part of our high school program, we have obtained state, national and international recognition through the school’s accreditation from the leading & prestigious international school accreditation agency, Cognia.
The school is currently led by the president of the BOT, the business manager, the building principal, the school principal, the childcare director, the director of education & marketing, the administrative & academic division lead officers, and numerous support staff. We all work together & collaboratively with our staff & faculty to review and implement policies that will maximize the educational quality of all programs. Our top priorities for this school year include retention of our top faculty with increased professional development for the staff, increased parental engagement through our PTO and parent volunteer programs, meaningful leadership opportunities for our students, integration of Islamic character & Tarbiyah educational programs into all subjects, and improving the Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies curriculum. These initiatives will, Insha’Allah, further enrich the experience of our students and the school at large.
